About Us

Who We Are

AIM provides a robust, one-stop shop for educational services. Our entire team comes from a background of working in education. We focus on the needs of students, using real language and our expertise to help schools stay in compliance. We are only based in school settings, meaning we are well versed education law.

Eight years ago, we were all just cogs in a machine, working in big school systems, reciting rules and practicing policy all the while knowing deep inside there must be a better way. During those years of employment, our A.I.M. leaders were in the trenches. We were the ones responsible for keeping our districts compliant. We went to the trainings to understand how to be the best practitioners and teachers that we could. We followed changes in the law, we learned new methods and tools and we pushed ourselves to better serve our student populations. When our districts had problems with disproportionality or inequity or unhappy parents, we sat with our leaders and built corrective action plans. We were the ones who spotted problems in the system, and we were the ones tasked with carrying out the changes that needed to be made. We were good at what we did. We began supervising, mentoring and teaching. We moved up and we moved on because we had a desire to make a bigger impact.

Taking a leap of faith that we could impact more kids’ lives, we went out on our own, forming A.I.M. Out of the trunks of our cars at first, we empowered our growing team to challenge the status quo and collaborate with other pioneers in education. Through honesty and transparency, we bridge the gap between the medical and school communities so special learners have a fighting chance. We live by “real lives, real language.” We take complicated information and make recommendations that everyone understands so success stretches far beyond just that school building.

Our team believes that working in education can not just be about contracting. It needs to be a ‘partnership’ in order to provide the best services to students and families. We want to build a ‘partnership’ that helps provide a lasting impact on the community. Our goal is to provide a quality service, in a timely manner, and do it in an ethical way. While we are a business and profit is one of our goals, we want to accomplish our work in the shortest amount of time possible and reduce redundancy. We always ensure we provide an individualized approach to all evaluations, therapy, professional development training, coaching, and consultation. A.I.M. focuses on innovating our practice and being completely transparent with our clients.

Our Process

Quality Assurance

Every evaluation report written by an A.I.M. employee is reviewed by highly qualified specialists in their field (including a Licensed Psychologist, LSSPs, SLPs, and OTs) for format and content to ensure it meets A.I.M.’s standards for a comprehensive assessment and has the required components of a Full and Individual Evaluation. When you receive a report from A.I.M, you can be assured that it is of the highest quality.

Technique

Generally, A.I.M. approaches tasks using a paradigm of legal, then ethical, then reasonable. This applies to all areas of our business: consultation, assessment, and therapy. Applying this approach as we problem solve ensures that we are first driven to make decisions that comply with state and federal laws governing public education. Focusing on this area will ensure that we address issues related to concepts such as accountability, appropriate use of funding, ensuring that FAPE is provided, and protecting the rights of students and families.

Journey

For schools, our teams provide consultation services at every point of the intervention model: Tier I through Tier III. We understand how difficult it is to navigate the maze of RtI and special education evaluations. Our services are customizable, depending on the level of guidance your staff needs to accomplish their goals and meet their deadlines. While we are always growing and changing, we strive to establish consistent teams at each of our contracting sites. Our goal with this is multi-faceted: assigning and keeping a consistent team on your site will increase productivity, reduce redundancy, and foster the kind of professional relationships that set the stage for collaboration and problem-solving that’s needed in special education.

We provide training for our own staff to ensure that they have adequate experience and knowledge to perform their duties at the high level of proficiency that is our standard. Our goal is to provide a quality service, in a timely manner, and to do it in an ethical way. We push to always tailor our product to our clients’ needs and to ensure complete transparency.
